So I’ve actually been meaning to make this post for the last week or so. The stuff for the wedding is really humming along right now. Everything big has been booked and arranged, we finally ordered our wedding rings when we were in Fredericton last weekend along with getting our marriage license. I’m told that the decoration elves in Fredericton (i.e. Trish, one of the bridesmaids, and Uncle Charles who’s in charge of the decorations) are going full tilt and I’ve been looking down here for a couple of things to try and help them out. We’ve got a little over half the response cards back with the rest hopefully to come over the next couple of weeks. It’s all down to the details now (although unfortunately, my detail list for the next couple of weeks alone is about a page long).
Two weekends ago, on the 9th of June, when we were back in Fredericton, my Aunts Carolyn and Kathy were super sweet and hosted a girls-only kitchen shower for me. It was a mostly family shower with a few other close friends of the family in attendance. We played a few games (it turns out I know nothing about cake names) and there was an abundance of food. The ladies were especially kind and gave me a lot of fabulous kitchen gifts including cake pans, bowls, a couple of appliances and lots of ingredients. Why ingredients you ask? Well because another part of the shower was that they all brought a recipe for me as well with the gift being something that would be helpful for making that recipe. So now I also have a book full of lovely, and wide-ranging, recipes. It was awesome! Thanks guys!
